Rihanna is never done. The new mom, globally recognized artist and entrepreneur has secured her first ever nomination for a Golden Globe award.

Rihanna’s effortless delivery of the soundtrack for 2022’s Black Panther : Wakanda Forever, ‘Lift Me Up’ has scored her the nod, proving that Rih is never done. The singer released the track back in October, returning to the music spotlight with what has been described as a tribute to the life and legacy of Chadwick Boseman who died after his silent battle with Cancer. The song was written collaboratively by Nigerian singer, Temilade Openiyi (Tems), Ryan Coogler and Rihanna with writing and production credit going to Ludwig Goransson. The track has been nominated for the Golden Globe in the category of Best Original Song. In an immediate reaction tweet, Rihanna wrote, “God be showing out! AM @goldenglobes.”

Despite the excitement among fans of the entertainer, over the release of the new song, Rihanna has made it clear that the song’s release does not mean that an album is coming soon. She is however set to perform at the Super Bowl halftime show next year.

The Golden Globes airs on January 10th, 2023 at 8pm ET.
