On Tuesday, a Netherlands judge ruled that the 43-year-old artist, whose real name is Siccature Alcock, would continue his sentence in that country. The proceedings was another pro forma court date, where the judge solely decides on the continuation of the incarceration.  The next pro forma date is planned for November 1st.

Jah Cure, who is known for hit singles like, ‘Never Find,’ ‘Longing For,’ and ‘Before I Leave,’ was convicted of attempted manslaughter in March this year, after he is reported to have stabbed an event promoter over an unpaid performance bill dating back to October 2021. The court had arrived at its decision after listening to damning voice notes that hear the entertainer verbalizing threats against the promoter over money owed to him. In one particular voice note, he allegedly threatened to stab the promoter 60,000 times.

Following the sentence, Dutch prosecutors appealed to the court against the acquittal of the attempted murder charge. In June, the artist’s attorney formally filed an appeal, in an effort to have the conviction overturned.
