Carnival may be over in Trinidad and Tobago but just hours after being acclaimed Road March champions, Bunji Garlin and Fay Ann Lyons shared news that they would be receiving the Young, Gifted and Black entrepreneurial award in New York City.

The pair were not spotted on the road on Carnival Tuesday. One day later, on Ash Wednesday, photos emerged of the power couple, posing for photos at the YGB entrepreneurial awards in New York. The black tie event began in 2006 as a means to bring exposure to everyday individuals who represent a positive role model to their peers and provide a means by which onlookers can become inspired and motivated.

In 2022, fellow Caribbean entertainers, Buju Banton, Rita Marley and Koffee, were among the awardees.
Fay Ann and Bunji continue to showcase Trinidad and Tobago’s cultural strength in a meaningful way, flying the flag of their homeland with dedication and pride.
