No, this has nothing to do with the fact that he and his daughter’s mother were seemingly coupled up backstage at Soka In Moka…. (wink, wink), but it does however have a lot to do with the fact that Drue maintains a high standard of performance delivery on stage in Carnival 2019! The “I Got You” singer, delivered seamlessly at the carnival staple event on Sunday night, proving he’s certainly got what it takes.

Ricardo’s been a part of the All Starz frontline lineup for quite some time. He’s definitely earned his place in the game. On stage at Soka in Moka, the young artiste presented a refreshing and exhilarating set that included his hit singles, “Professional” “Bet” and “Vagabond.” He was well received by the crowd of primarily mature fete lovers who couldn’t help themselves when the young charmer pulled out the stops and delved into some old school refrains.

Ricardo Drue

Drue’s physical presence on stage is always one to admire as well. Perfectly suited in a khaki coloured suit on Sunday night, he worked the stage, and with little to no talk in between songs, Ricardo simple ACED it!

Take a look at what we managed to capture of the young performer at Soka in Moka 2019.

Beres Hammond is a legend in these parts and on Sunday night as he hosted his “Love From a Distance” virtual concert, he proved that greatness never ceases to amaze.

Beres has delivered his sweet, flavourful reggae love ballads for decades. On Sunday night, as thousands of his loyal fans around the world, streamed the virtual event, they were certainly reminded of the importance of good music, especially in times like these.

Beres, joined on stage by Buju Banton.

Reggae music has felt somewhat alienated in recent time, with the surge of more youthful, less melodic artistry, but all is not lost, and on Sunday, Beres accompanied by Marcia Griffiths, Buju Banton and even young dancehall sensation, Popcaan, fulfilled the silent desires of many, many people from around the world.

Vocals properly tuned, the 65-year-old hit maker, rendered some of his most memorable songs, among them, “Stop A Man from Trying,” “Rock Away”, “What One Dance Can Do” and many others. In a video clip, pre-recorded and inserted into the show, Beres told fans, “For all the well wishers, fans, family and friends and everyone, I am very saddened by the almost two years I haven’t seen you… it makes me feel bad. I’m trying to do this thing now, so we can stay in touch. Welcome to Beres…”

Jamaican dancehall artist, Sean Paul’s ‘Live N Livin’ is one of two albums from him, set for release this year. The album, according to a media statement issued, was inspired by the perception of members of the music industry that dancehall is dead. Confronting the sentiment head on, Sean Paul says he believes dancehall is alive and well, and maintains a strong pulse.

Sean Paul set to release two albums in 2021.

The first album being released, showcases over twenty artistes and even having proven himself over the years as an International dancehall trendsetter, Sean Paul says he still aims to highlight the significance of the genre while collaborating with different talented artists. Over the years, Sean Paul has made music with the likes of Rihanna, Justin Bieber and Sam Smith, blending and fusing his sound with world rhythms.

Live and Livin’ is dubbed “a collaborative effort,” with 16 tracks all featuring an accompanying artist. On the single, ‘Lion Heart’, Sean Paul stands solo. “It was important to me to show that in our genre of dancehall, we don’t need to clash in order to attain the spotlight. We don’t need to divide our fans to attain the rotations on the airwaves or streams. Over the years me, Shaggy, and more recently Koffee, Shenseea and others have been making it onto the world stage and we are not clashing with our co-workers, nor are we dividing our fans. This album ‘Live N Livin’ is an album I hold very dear to my heart because it shows the effort of collaboration over confrontation,” he said.

The album features veteran artists like Buju Banton, Damian ‘Jr Gong’ Marley, Busy Signal, Mavado, and the younger generation of artists such as Chi Ching Ching, Intense, Skillibeng, and Govana and more.

‘Live N Livin’ is set to be released on March 12th and is executively produced by Sean Paul’s label Dutty Rock Productions and distributed by ONErpm.
