Machel Montano responds to Blaxx with love, calling it the Kanye effect.

Like if there isn’t enough drama in the entertainment industry as it is, Soca artiste Blaxx yesterday threw shade at Machel Montano, making it publicly clear that there’s uneasiness between he and Montano that many would not have expected. Blaxx cursed Montano’s name, calling him the devil during a performance at the ‘Morning Neighbour’ fete in Point Fortin.

The incident was recorded and has since been shared around the internet with even Montano sharing it with a viewer discretion warning. In his post however, Montano who appeared in the Bahamas alongside DJ Khaled on the weekend before touching down in Point Fortin yesterday, expressed forgiveness to Blaxx, calling it the Kanye effect.

Ebuzztt was not at the event to contextualise the entertainer’s expression, however one witness to the event explained that Blaxx was simply expressing himself over the fact that many had opted to attend Montano’s ‘Soca Kingdom’ event over the ‘Morning Neighbour’ event, which was held on the same day, and has been a staple event to the Borough Day celebrations. “In my opinion, he did not come out to bash Machel. It was like friends saying boy ‘eff he we still pumping,” the patron accounted on social media.

Under usual circumstances in Trinidad and Tobago, obscene language used on stage is followed by arrest and subsequent fines being imposed on artistes. Up to the hour of this article’s posting, there was no indication as to whether the ‘Hulk’ singer had been charged by the police for his use of expletives on stage. He has however been criticised by many for what some deem as hateful expression at an event that was meant to celebrate the 28th anniversary of Point Fortin’s Borough status.
