From The Wendy Williams Show to Summer Jam, Charly’s Killin’ It.

Published

on

Keep your eyes on this Trelawny, Jamaica youth.

In 2016, when he visited Trinidad and Tobago, Charly Black told one radio personality, “With me, meh ah go always have songs for the females.” He has lived up to that guarantee, no doubt, and his hit single, “Party Animal” is taking him to destinations around the world faster than we could’ve imagined. A couple weeks ago, Black made his debut on the Wendy Williams show in the US. He was introduced by the gossip and hype television personality with gusto like nothing else. She called him, “a Jamaica dancehall star,” – certainly an introduction that was on point.

On Sunday, in New York, HOT 97Fm’s Summer Jam concert event hosted at Met Life Stadium also featured the “Momentum” singer who has credited fellow artiste, Bounty Killer for his thirst to succeed, over the years. Charly again sang, “Party Animal” and while his name is yet to appear in the headlines of any mainstream mags or online entertainment features, the fact that he was cast for the show along with Jamaica’s Konshens, speaks volumes for dancehall music and the Caribbean.

Charly’s killin’ it. We can’t wait to see what he does next. There’s no stopping the inevitable.

On February 2nd, in the heat of the Carnival melee in Trinidad, Bunji Garlin and Shenseea’s remix of Garlin’s ‘Big Bad Soca’ was uploaded to YouTube. Since that time, it’s amassed close to 200,000 views. But, if you’re like us and totally missed it, we’ve gotta warn you, the Jamaican gyal’s  powerful presence may very well grab you by the nuts.

Shenseea ain’t playin’. This girl’s getting hers! A collaboration of any kind with Bunji Garlin, could only have a positive result for any Caribbean artist and for Bunji- well, truth be told, Shenseea’s what’s hot right now, so his was definitely a good move.

Check out the remix. Be sure to let us know what you think.

Jah Cure was a part of Trinidad’s recent carnival excitement.

These Jamaican reggae and dancehall artistes never cease to satisfy the yearning of their fans, do they? Their social media pages give the world some amazing insight into their lives, from what they like to eat to who they spend their most intimate moments with and so much more. Jah Cure’s one of those entertainers who’s adored for his voice but he’s so much more than an artiste. He’s a doting dad. His daughter’s got his heart, no doubt and despite the fact that he’s now divorced from her mother, Kamila McDonald, the reggae hit maker’s living up to his daughter’s expectations of him.

Pretty little Lani all masked up.

The Cure brought little Lani to Trinidad and Tobago in the past week. They were in T&T during the carnival festivities in the lead up to the little beauty’s 6th birthday. Social media posts showed the daddy -daughter duo heading back to Jamaica overnight, Jah Cure captioning one of his pics, “ We had a great time.”

The reggae crooner recently tweeted that a new music release is on the way- something called, “Risk it All”, which features Phyllisia Ross. Stay woke!
