EBUZZTTNot very long ago, Turner, a young, unique sounding artist from Morvant, Trinidad inhaled and released his heart. He initially gave Soca music lovers songs like, “She Bad” and “Holding On.” In 2019, Turner lost his young daughter. News of the child’s sudden passing pierced the hearts of many of his followers. For him, it would undoubtedly be a life altering experience.
Online social media posts over the past few months have shown Turner’s spiritual growth. He has prayed, expressed himself and thanked God for his blessings even amid the pain of loss. In one social media post today, the young entertainer explained that he was once homeless. Added to his revelation some time before that his father had died, having contracted HIV/AIDS, Turner’s reality certainly proved tough.
In the aftermath of his daughter’s passing, and ahead of Carnival 2020, Turner released a very untraditional soca track. Much like Kanye West had done by releasing “Jesus Walks” in the rap and Hip Hop culture, Trevon Turner released, “Thank Him” in the often sexually charged, Soca culture. Whether the song would be played and listened to, would be up to the DJs and radio personalities.
Undoubtedly awakened by the most recent circumstances of his life, Turner seems to be using his God given talent to promote God’s works. “One thing I know for sure is that Jah really answers our prayers and he listens to your prayers. I assure you that he ain’t bothered about your race, religion, hair or the color of your skin or even if you are rich or poor,” he wrote in a social media post.
Here’s a look at what he had to say about his life and how God has answered his prayers.
