Turner’s words express heartfelt thanks to everyone for their support.

His music remains on rotation on the airwaves in Trinidad and Tobago post Carnival 2018. That’s a good sign. He’s breaking down doors and it’s all based on sheer talent, that’s for sure. Turner, the artiste who came onto the scene last year and thrilled us all with his husky tone and relaxed demeanor, isn’t giving up and we’re loving it.

In a social media post on Monday, the young superstar in the making seemed to have been speaking to his peers. Trinidad and Tobago, in a continued state of unease and social disruption, the young Morvant native expressively took to his social media platform, posting :

“There are many reasons to give up but I chose none….. Cause obstacles may block you but you gotta have the strength and mind to overcome them all. Jah guide and protect me from any evil that lurks in the dark. Love to all Trinidad and Tobago people who are supporting me and the rest of the world I say thanks genuinely.”

Rude Boy Orlando Takes On The Bad Boys. Attacks Senseless Rivalry.

Published

Trinidad and Tobago’s having a hard time arresting an out of control crime situation. Two rival gangs are at the core of many murders on the twin island, a situation that has led to lessened economic investment and consistent travel warnings to international destination seekers. One young, talented artist is speaking up and unlike others, he’s pointing out the perpetrators without fear of persecution.

Orlando Octave hails from Rio Claro, South Trinidad. He’s proven to be a faithful believer in the biblical scripture, having given fans insight into his spiritual journey, over time. The young entertainer has been to Israel, tracing the bible’s teachings and often sharing his experiences with his fans. His latest music release is a far cry from songs like, ‘Single,’ ‘ Berlin’ and ‘ Church Gyal’ – Soca tracks he’s delivered in the past.

Octave’s highlight of the Rasta City and Muslim gangs’ ongoing anarchy and it’s senseless negative effects on Trinidad and Tobago’s population, has placed him in a category that includes celebrated entertainers who’ve used their platform to highlight societal issues- artistes like David Rudder, The Mighty Shadow and Singing Sandra.

Octave started his music career in the Calypso arena. The storytelling genre, for many years proved effective for artistes who mounted stages across Trinidad and Tobago to decry the actions or inaction of empowered governments. Octave’s reggae infused track, ‘UniTTy’ is pretty much aimed at doing the same, delving deep into the core of a societal problem that is quickly destroying a land once prided as paradise on earth.

In recent time Orlando Octave has been a part of a positive clique of artistes, among them Sizzla Kalonji, Marlon Asher and IzaacKing, who’ve been preaching positivity as much as they can, via the music they deliver to the masses.
