EBUZZTTHer entire band, inclusive of dancers rocked the Brooklyn Children’s Museum in New York, on Sunday afternoon and by Monday, fans of Soca music, the world over, knew that Nadia Batson’s ‘Artform’ was a huge success.
The singer/songwriter, and her team, brought big vibes to New York this past weekend, with many now clearly acknowledging that Nadia Batson is one of Trinidad and Tobago’s foremost cultural ambassadors. Flying the flag of T&T like a true champion, the ‘Soca Party’ singer has maintained a strong, distinguishable quality in performance and style, that places her in a category of her own.
At the Brooklyn venue on Sunday, an array of people crossing age demographics arrived, ready to fete, and fete they did. A well decked out venue that stayed true to the concept of “for the love of soca,” greeted Batson’s hardcore fans, many of whom had come from different parts of the city, to celebrate the entertainer’s continued climb to soca stardom. On stage, new female artistes, Jonnelle Manwarren and later, Anika Berry, showed the vivacious appeal that’s apparent in the new age soca artistes- something that’s definitely enough to look forward to. Both artistes kicked off the event with enthusiasm and energy, setting the ball rolling for what would certainly be a great show.
