From relay races to exciting new twists on traditional Greek sports, the Pumpalympics promises to be one that the entire family can, and will enjoy. Organizing entity, Scorch has been hard at work, alongside facilitating company, Buzz Concepts designing a broad spectrum of sport activities that will see participants show off their fitness ability, dexterity and certainly, coordination.

Sport, believed to be an integral discipline that can unite people, is at the heart of the Pumpalympics, and comes on the heels of the culmination of the 2024 Paris Olympics. “We see this as a necessary part of human existence,” said Asha Greene, one of the event’s coordinators. She explained the need for bridging the gap between social and economic classes, in safe spaces that afford for fun and keen competition, all with the aim of giving to those most in need.

With a start time of 10am, the August 18th event will deliver on live entertainment, food and drinks and an all-out festive atmosphere that can be enjoyed by both team supporters and rivaling teams. “There can only be one winner in the end, but what we envision is an opportunity for us all to unite and share in the camaraderie that Trinbagonians are exceptionally good at displaying. We prove it annually, during carnival and there’s no reason we can’t showcase this same spirt, outside of that season and year-round,” said Greene.

The Dwayne Bravo Foundation Charity Golf Tournament returned to St. Andrews Golf Club, Moka, Maraval in Trinidad on Monday for its second year, bringing together some of Trinidad and Tobago’s biggest names in sport, corporate T&T and a new generation of golfers for a day of competition, camaraderie and giving back.

When the final putt dropped, it was a familiar trio at the top of the leaderboard.

Team Wilco, comprising Liam Bryden, Ryan Gomez and Willie Medford, successfully defended the tournament title, becoming back-to-back champions after taking the inaugural title in 2025 as Team MRI. The three players returned this year as Team Wilco, proving that their winning combination remains intact.

The tournament was hosted by Dwayne Bravo, head coach of the Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR) and former West Indies all-rounder, and featured a strong gathering of sporting legends, TKR personalities, corporate leaders and young golfers.

The event also welcomed members of the Trinidad and Tobago national youth golf team, giving some of the country’s emerging golfers the opportunity to share the course with established sporting figures and business leaders.

While the competition on the course was spirited, the purpose behind the tournament remained at the heart of the day.
