“Mighty Jesus, you’ve brought me through such a journey.” These were the feelings expressed by Grace Hamilton- the woman known worldwide, as dancehall’s Spice. Explaining that the pregnancy photo was not meant to disrespect anyone, she said she is now celebrating her new life, her rebirth and she is not pregnant.

Spice told fans on an Instagram Live stream on Friday, March 17th, that she had been hospitalised from October to December and had undergone multiple surgical procedures during that time, first in the Dominican Republic and then in the United States. The artiste also revealed that she had to learn to walk, talk and sing all over again, added to which she was fed through tubes connected to her neck. Having gone through all of this, she was determined to let fans around the world truly understand what God had done for her.

Spice is Not Pregnant. Artiste Thanks God for Her Testimony.

The Jamaican artist, known for her sexually charged dancehall music, said the live was not meant to promote any new music, but was meant to speak her truth and share all that had been taking place with her, throughout this period of her life. “I was dying. I was literally losing my life,” she revealed. “Today belongs to God,” said the entertainer repeatedly, explaining that she is thinking of doing a gospel album. On Friday, she unleashed a new single called, “God Ah Bless Me,” but as she announced at the beginning of the live, she did no promotion of the new music. “Jesus is King,” she repeated.

Despite rumours that circulated back in November that Spice had gone to the Dominican Republic to have a BBL (Brazilian Butt Lift), the artiste vehemently denied this, saying that she had not. Hamilton thanked her fans, her sister and mother for their prayers and strength. “When I went to the hospital and they did the MRI, I was rushed into surgery. Nothing was said to me,” she explained. “Imagine when you ah wake up now, you wake up like a robot. Things inna yuh nose and mouth, yuh two hand tied. Mih say, Jesus Christ.”

Spice said when she woke up, she woke up stiff like a robot. “I started praying inna meh mind. Meh say, Jesus what is happening here!” she expressed. She said she remembered her scriptures and went deep into her spirituality at that point.

During the Friday morning meeting with over thirty thousand fans online, Spice reiterated, “my new journey starts today and you will be seeing me live a lot more.”

The artiste will perform in the Cayman Islands for the first time in six months, next week. She will follow up that performance in April, in New York. Admitting that she endured some dark days, Spice says she now knows why she has been chosen and she has accepted her journey and her testimony, and will continue to share it.
