Carnival in Trinidad and Tobago may be over, but the Soca Stars are now taking their heat to cities around the world. This weekend several Soca artistes are in Toronto, Canada and by all accounts they are igniting the fire of the Caribbean in the hearts of Caribbean music lovers there. MX Prime has already caused quite a stir.

Last night Prime together with the Ultimate Rejects performed at the Return Fete. The stage show was energy- filled as usual and the Soca music die-hards sang “Full Extreme” much like they would Explainer’s “Lorraine”. The Carnival Road March had been tested overseas for the first time and there was no failure. Ricardo Drue, Blaxx, Tizzy and the Roy Cape band were also featured at the event. St. Lucia’s Teddyson John, who had visited his homeland for a short stint prior to heading to Canada, was also a featured performer on Friday night as were King Bubba of Barbados and Sekon Sta.

International Soca Monarch King, Aaron ‘Voice’ St. Louis, whose “Far From Finished” remains a refrain in Trinidad and Tobago post C2K17, was also a part of the Soca star lineup for Return Fete.

Back at home in Trinidad, Destra Garcia told fans she’s back in studio while “Single” singer, Orlando Octave jetted off to Guyana.
