In just about two weeks, a white affair, the likes of which could cause a stir in Trinidad, is set to take place. The April 30th event is described by organizers as an alternative brunch event. The name? Bourgy Brunch.

It’s an all white affair that’s touted as the Caribbean version of the traditional brunch concept. Event promoter, Gleeson Job, in a statement issued said:

“It’s a brunch, yes, but we expect people to have a great time. It wouldn’t be Bourgy Brunch without good food, good friends and a good jam. We want patrons to enjoy the vibe all the way back to their cars.”

Patrons of the event have enjoyed tasty food and good vibes, annually, according to organizers.

The event, which is in its fourth year, promises to showcase the flavor of T&T in the food that’s served  up as well.  Organizers have teamed up with Seaver Street Eats Crepes and Sabrina’s Exotic Chutney’s and we’re told the menu goes beyond the traditional brunch delights, this time including items such as herbed seasoned pholourie, chicken stuffed pholourie, crab stuffed dumplings with coconut curry sauce, and crab a callaloo crepes. Those attending can drink what they prefer because guess what? It’s a dutch brunch.

The fashion sense at this anticipated event is nothing short of flair focused. Trinidad and Tobago designer, Afiya Bishop of ‘Loud By Afiya’ admitted that she’s outfitted quite a few people for this particular event. “My clients take their fashion seriously. Because of the dress code in particular, everyone wants to own their style with a custom made outfit,” she said.

Location details for Bourgy Brunch will not be revealed until the time proves right. For further insight into the all white affair, check out Bourgy Brunch TT on Facebook.

What started off as a concert ended as a FETE! Ebuzztt was most present at Tuesday on the Rocks’ debut on the Savannah grass on Tuesday night. The event, which has grown significantly over the years, drew a massive crowd ranging from the young to the young at heart, all there to celebrate the musical catalog of Kes the Band.

As we begin our review, we note that entering the venue seemed less strenuous than previous years as the design was more accommodating – specifically to parking and layout of food and bar. Before the event officially kicked off, patrons were entertained by the likes of Sheldon Blackman and others on a mini stage while patrons enjoyed their favourite oriental, arabian or creole finger food located near a designated eating area.

Vale Vibe Cooler Dishes Out A Fete, Not A Concert.

For yet another spectacular year, well known DJ, Alicia D Duchess and her team of event coordinators provided patrons with nothing short of a true Carnival fete experience. EBUZZTT was on hand this past Tuesday night to enjoy the epic vibes, as we did last year and even the year before that. In fact, this is one cooler experience we try not to miss because it’s one of the very few authentic carnival treats!

The thing about Vale Vibe Cooler that makes it truly pop out for us is its simple, yet effective feting dynamic. This is an event that makes the most of a venue that’s not the biggest. The event takes place annually at Bayview in Maracas, along the North Coast road. Parking for patrons is roadside and security by police officers along the roadway, is never to be questioned.

Flag wavers, shorts and t shirts and great music makes Vale Vibe Cooler a necessary fete for Ebuzztt.

On the inside, the ambience is beautifully, natural- no unnecessary ad ons- just effective, efficient infrastructure and non stop feting. Patrons attending Vale Vibe Cooler are mostly foreigners who come in for the carnival experience, many of them amped to maximise on their few days in T&T. A nice mixture of mature and young fetters delivers to this fete, a keen, much needed freedom that’s expressed in smiles, airborne hands, voracious singing to every soca track played and not to mention the oldies that are goodies that every international carnival lover basks in. This is never an ordinary fete- this is a fete for true carnival revellers, the ones that are sometimes forgotten.

On Tuesday night, Voice, the prolific three time Soca monarch Champ came through with the music. He impressed thoroughly, even engaging a young patron who’d flown in from Boston. She mounted the stage as the entertainer came on, ready to back back her derriere on him, and that she did.
