Don’t take this too seriously, but it’s cute enough to leave us all with a little smile on our faces, with all that’s going on around us. Patrice Roberts recently released a brand new single alongside Jamaican artist, Kemar Highcon on the Candy Shack riddim. The collaborative single is called, “Start It.” It comes as debate raged last week over whether soca artistes should continue to release new soca music even as government said there would be no T&T carnival in 2021.

Roberts along with artistes like Destra Garcia, Kerwin Dubois and even Jamaica’s Konshens are on the new riddim.

That’s not what this story’s about though.

So, on Saturday straight out of a virtual performance for the SocaRun Festival 2020, Roberts posted a subliminally racy pic, showing off not only her hot figure but a little more. In the photo she used the hashtags, #Kindasweaty #Kindacold #Ifyouseeyousee. Well, it wasn’t too hard to see what she’d been referring to. In the comments, her daughter’s father, fellow entertainer, Ricardo Drue, popped in to let it be known that he definitely saw. What was cute however was the coy emoji and laughter between the pair as Roberts responded to him beneath the photo. In the end, Ricardo who is presently in the US, wrote, “ready to press a button to two,…” undeniably making reference to her physical reference captioned beneath the pic. Patrice laughed.

The present relationship between the Soca artistes who are parents of a beautiful daughter, have never been publicly detailed, however there is undoubtedly a comfortable situation that leads to the belief that they may very well be an item.

Buju, in three very honest social media posts on Wednesday, told the world that he is done with Covid-19, suggesting that it has been a plan all along. Known for his vocal stance against injustice whether via his music or perfectly articulated epressions, Buju who continues to enjoy his freedom following years of incarceration in the United States between 2009 and 2018, said, “We are tired of you intellectual fools trying to tell us how to live our lives. If you are so smart why haven’t you found the cure for cancer?”

The entertainer’s outbursts come one day after a video for the remix of Koffee’s single “Pressure,” on which his powerful, raspy vocals are featured, was uploaded to YouTube.

Countless hit singles and an authentic charisma that makes us all know that Blaxx is one of the real ones, is enough for us to fight to ensure that he stays with us much longer. In fact, so impassioned is artiste and DJ, Dawg E Slaughter about ailing entertainer Dexter ‘Blaxx’ Stewart’s medical condition that he has started an effort to help cover medical expenses for the ‘Breathless’ singer.

Blaxx has reportedly been ailing for approximately three weeks. It is understood that he has suffered kidney complications but is steadily recovering. EBUZZTT was unable to speak directly with the artist, however persons close to him explained that he is resting and recuperating.

When news emerged that Blaxx was ill, Dawg E Slaughter jumped into action, first requesting the artist’s permission before spearheading a drive to generate funds from fans and anyone who felt compelled to contribute in anyway that they could. Bank account information was shared and reposted by artistes like Destra Garcia and Shurwayne Winchester. The effort however became a talking point among some on social media who began questioning why the artiste should be assisted when “soca artistes make their millions.” Utterances like this one, and others of similar expression has led to much hurt by some members of the Soca industry. One artist, speaking on the condition of anonymity told Ebuzztt that it’s sad that the general public continuously chooses to condemn Soca artistes, when in reality, their perceptions of soca music’s creators are far from the truth.

With the exception of Soca’s veteran heavyweight, Machel Montano and a few others, the soca music industry’s contributors, according the artist, have struggled for years and now, with the pandemic, the savings of those who may have managed to save, could be exhausted. “Nobody is working and everyone of us have families, just like everybody else,” expressed the entertainer.
