Trinidad and Tobago’s often highly controversial soca artiste, Fay-Ann Lyons returns from her recording session with Fernando Garibay on Monday. This weekend, she’ll be in New York with her husband as they attend social media sensation, Major Hype’s comedy event and of course, it’s back to mommy mode on Monday as the couple’s daughter Syri heads back to school. Lyons-Alvarez has a great deal to be happy about today though, having knocked off at least four new tracks with Garibay- a producer who has worked with the likes of Lady Gaga, Kylie Minogue, Britney Spears and Whitney Houston, just to name a few.

Producer, Fernando Garibay says he was blown away by Alvarez's talent.

The connection wasn’t forced, we’ve learnt. According to insiders at the House of Vikings, the production team reached out to Lyons-Alvarez, saying her vocals were needed and questioning her availability. Garibay then spoke directly with Fay-Ann and excitedly booked the session which, by all social media accounts, seems to have been an enjoyable and successful one. On the weekend, EBUZZTT learnt that the original 4 hours of recording was increased to some nine hours, out of sheer amazement by the producer and a genuine willingness to put in some more time.

“Fay-Ann’s focusing on the opportunity to take her flavour further,” said Crystal Alvarez in a chat with us. Speaking on Lyons-Alvarez’s behalf, Crystal told us that her aunt is excited and humbled about the fact that she was sought out by the internationally renowned producer.

Bunji Garlin meanwhile, has also been looking on at his wife in action. Taking to social media on the weekend, the ‘Differentology’ singer said, “On this day I had one of the greatest experiences I’ve ever had. I got to sit in studio and watch Fay Ann Lyons- Alvarez (official) and Fernando Garibay work on some seriously miraculous shizzzzz. Wow. I seeing some very surreal things right now.”

Both artistes are said to be working on new music for the upcoming carnival season in Trinidad and Tobago.
