While it may seem like every urban radio Dj now has the ambition to be a Soca star, there are some among them who are genuinely inclined; some who possess the talent. Barbados is among the Caribbean’s cultural gems. Within its shores lie boundless elements of cultural beauty – singers and musicians, artistes and designers, all contributing to the region’s unique aesthetic. Enter Kirk Brown…

Pushing his brand of soca and entertainment across the world, Barbados’ Kirk Brown recently returned from China. He was one of his island’s cultural ambassadors that saw him stand on stage before the Chinese people and deliver Barbados’ sweet soca. It’s nothing new for him. Brown’s been a part of the entertainment arena in Barbados for many years. One of his career highlights is having opened for Rihanna, Shaggy and NeYo. “I love music and you me, Soca is on its way to making it into the mainstream market. I’m eager to be a part of that,” he told Ebuzztt.
