In an update to this story, it has been learnt that Stephen John did not qualify into the second round ballot of the Grammy nomination process. His efforts must however be applauded and we look forward to his professional progression on the world’s music stage.

A Trinidad and Tobago gospel artiste has landed his way into the first-round ballot of the Recording Academy’s 63rd annual Grammy process. Stephen John’s EP, “The Gospel of Romance” is up for consideration.

Stephen is the first Trinidad and Tobago Gospel Artist to be considered for for a Grammy. According to a media statement issued, Stephen has high hopes for nominations in The Album of the Year, Gospel Album, Song of the Year, Gospel Performance/Song among other categories.

Stephen John

Stephen’s no stranger to the gospel fraternity. He’s been singing gospel and releasing music for over 20 years. He became a member of the Recording Academy in 2017 and had submitted his singles, ‘Everybody’ and the remix of ‘Because of Love’ for consideration in the 60th edition of the Grammy Awards. Now three years later, his EP, “The Gospel of Romance,” is close to nomination.

The final round of voting opens on December 7th and closes on January 4th 2021. Every vote counts and gets Stephen one step closer to winning a Grammy.
