Maybe the Carifesta closing show organizers needed to think bigger when it came to the execution of the T&T national anthem last week. Destra Garcia, the Queen of Bacchanal sure made that clear earlier this morning when she hit the stage at Caesar’s Army’s “In-de-paint-dance” fete.

Garcia now has everyone in awe, this after she executed the country’s anthem seamlessly and possibly like it’s never been done before. Last week singer, Danielle Williams was publicly trampled by the President of Trinidad and Tobago for her Carifesta closing ceremony rendition of the country’s anthem. In a statement, President Paula Mae Weeks said, “A discordant note was struck at the closing ceremony, when an unacceptable rendition of our National Anthem was performed. The National Anthem must be sung in its original music; no introduction or coda can be added or other artistic licence taken in its rendition.”

Destra is known for her superb vocals. Her stage shows aren’t just exciting but her vocals are always amazing. She sure showed off this morning at the beach turn-up along the North Coast in Trinidad.
