The hype surrounding the name Private Ryan and his events that are now calendar staples around the world, is no joke. The latest news is that the Trinidad DJ’s first Soca Brainwash Toronto event held recently, was by all accounts, a tremendous success.

Soca Brainwash in the 6ix attracted patrons from various parts of Canada & the US.

A media release issued by the team, explained that  the event, which was originally set to take place at Toronto’s Bandshell Park had to be relocated to the Woodbine Mall parking lot on Rexdale Boulevard due to unforeseen circumstances. Dubbed a Soca Picnic, Ryan’s competent team had merely a couple days to relocate, transform a new location and execute a top notch event- which they did.

The day fete featured well stocked bars across the venue and while not advertised via mainstream mediums, Soca Brainwash Toronto was well attended. The smorgasbord of Caribbean cuisine included  BBQ & Jerk Chicken, Rice and Peas, Coleslaw and Doubles.

DJs for the event included the likes of Barrie Hype, Ryan Sayeed, Tony X, Jester, Young Chow, and of course, the man himself, DJ Private Ryan. The next Soca Brainwash instalment takes place in Barbados as CropOver excitement takes centre stage.
