Caribbean model, Aria Francis yesterday strutted the runway at the show for Season 3 of rapper, Kanye West’s ‘Yeezy’ clothing line and debut of his seventh solo studio album. The Grenadian model has worked with top fashion designers and appeared at the New York Fashion Week last year.

In September last year, Francis’ natural look even gained mention in a Huffington post article titled “Fashion Week’s Natural Hair Moments That Made Us Shout For Joy”.  The online news hub noted that many black models feel pressured to chemically straighten their curls or wear long hair extensions just to book shows in an industry known for its lack of diversity.

West's sister-in-laws, Kourtney Kardashian and Kedall Jenner wore his Yeezy Season 3 deigns.

Kanye West’s Yeezy Season 3 Fashion show featured dozens of models positioned on two raised platforms  and many more in the pit below who were directed to remain still in a bid to show off the new post-apocalyptic sportswear collection. Supermodel Naomi Campbell and Young Thug were among the models at the show which was held at the Madison Square Garden yesterday.

West also unleashed his new album “The Life of Pablo”, at the event. He had previously described the album as “a gospel album with a whole lot of cursing on it.”

It may be the move to catapult the carnival industry to the very next level. There should be no doubt that the concept of the Caribbean carnival- the model initialised by Trinidad and Tobago, has extremely far reaching potential. With global festivals such as Coachella, OvO Fest, and Summerfest among others, drawing thousands to their venues, there’s no reason why a Caribbean carnival concept, should not be among the ‘Music Festival’ big wigs that the world talks about annually.

Tribe’s Dean Akin, together with Eventology’s Derrick Lewis and Caesar’s Army’s Jules Sobian with the help of Jamie Stewart of Commune Sports and Entertainment, are credited with conceptualising the CarniCon convention. This evening’s launch at the National Academy for the Performing Arts in Port-of-Spain will feature a Keynote and Masterclass by brand evangelist and world leading digital futurist, Bonin Bough who’ll enlighten the audience on how digital innovation can transform value streams and generate revenue for governments, Carnival stakeholders and brands.

According to the team, with Carnival being an integral part of Trinidad and Tobago’s culture and tourism product, the convention aims at establishing this country as the owner and leader in the practice, execution and business of Carnival to an attentive global audience of practitioners and enthusiasts in 2020.

Don’t be fooled by Patsy’s coy demeanour. She’s undoubtedly got that insatiable Caribbean fire burning inside. In the past two years, Patrice Roberts has left a mark on the Soca industry that few others have been able to challenge. Her packaged soca effect, which comes complete with glam, fashionable looks and good music, has amped up the competition on the soca scene, and nobody can deny that.

Patrice Roberts has been giving the world that subliminal sex appeal.

This past week, Roberts along with several other Caribbean entertainers made their presence felt on the Uber Soca Cruise. In several photos posted to social media, Roberts reminded us that she’s still in charge, delivering eye candy for her fans and leaving the naysayers dumbfounded, to say the least. One image posted earlier in the week was the topic of much chatter over whether the entertainer has been lightening her skin. Patrice has remained mum on that allegation. Despite the controversial passing comments from onlookers, the mom of one who has already released three new singles ahead of C2K20, including a single called, “Real Woman”, has maintained her appeal.

Patrice, Ricardo Drue and Nailah Blackman

With a banging body that has kept both men and women intrigued, Patrice Roberts is out the gate and certainly ready for the upcoming season. On Thursday, the entertainer was spotted posing with her child’s father, entertainer Ricardo Drue, and fellow sex siren, Nailah Blackman, aboard the Uber Soca Cruise. Patrice’s sexy physique was on display as was Nailah’s – both female artistes throwing out the goods for the world to know they’re both here to stir up the heat.
