Fay-Ann Lyons-Alvarez may have made folks in T&T and possibly across the world, fume over her hot bod- well, at least those of us who aren’t as fortunate to look like a well carved sculpture. The Soca hit maker has been making sexy look oh so easy in recent weeks, her latest jaw-dropper, a black lace cover up, worn over what seemed to be underwear, at the Ladies Night Out event on Saturday night.

Fay-Ann Lyons rocked a see-through ensemble at Ladies Night Out 2016.

Alvarez posted a photo of herself prior to hitting the stage with the Asylum Vikings in the wee hours of Sunday and amassed some 2800 likes on Instagram and over 125 comments. Amid the comments we found a request from a New Jersey based fashion designer, S. Samuel who called on Lyons-Alvarez to link up with her. The FashionSixty4 LLC owner who also owns her own design showroom located in Orange Country, NJ, told Lyons she would like to design a piece for her to wear.

S.Samuel makes custom made garments to order in both ready to wear and couture. In 2013, Lyons-Alvarez rocked a corset piece by local fashion designer House Van Der Vlugt. The piece was worn for the Tobago Jazz festival and immediately after the event, Lyons had posted a photo with the caption  “supporting local”.

Whether Fay-Ann will take up the offer presented by S. Samuel, we’ll have to wait and see, but one thing’s for sure and that’s the fact that whatever she rocks in the days and weeks ahead, will likely be statement makers just for the fans and of course, the naysayers!

She’s seen a weed vending machine so far and she seems to have been pretty blown away by that. Nailah Blackman’s in Switzerland. The soca beauty is there for the Swiss Soca Festival, something that’s pretty huge for this fresh, young entertainer.

Blackman, who unleashed a new EP last month called ‘The Reel’, has been delivering consistently over the past two years. Vocal strength and a visually appealing package, makes her an artiste to watch in the Caribbean music industry- an artiste who, by all accounts, has the best potential to make it onto the international music circuit.

Nailah in Switzerland.

In a near emotional rant on her Instagram story, Blackman said she is extremely happy. “All my life I always wanted to travel and do music and I am here for the Soca Swiss Festival. This is just amazing to me!” she said, thanking God for the opportunity. “God is good,” she said.

Nailah told her fans that she had always wanted to visit Europe. She said a lot of the artistes she’d listened to growing up, were European. “The whole vibe, the whole gloomy vibe, it’s a definite vibe. It’s definitely an emotion that I felt a lot in my childhood and I get why people would’ve made songs like they made in this kind of weather- it’s sort of gloomy so it’s nice to have soca here… bring a different side, yuh know!”

Check out Nailah’s reaction to the Weed Vending machine find, in Switzerland.

Kes the band has been busy. An entire album is being released to fans of Soca and Calypso music this month. In an interview on RED96.7FM on Thursday, Kees Dieffenthaller- lead singer of the band, said the album, “We Home” would be dropping on August 28th. He also urged the people of Trinidad and Tobago to love up Calypso music.

The upcoming album is the band’s first live studio album and according to a social media post on the band’s page, it was born out of the present global situation. The COVID-19 pandemic, still a very present threat, Kees said the period has given many people the time to reconnect with loved ones, take things slow, recharge, innovate and be at home.

The album is described as one that delivers to fans, the energy that’s often shared by the band when they’re on stage. “We miss the energy we get from you when we’re on stage and wanted to share the vibes we feel when we’re performing. We hope this album captures that feeling and gives us all something to look forward to when we could jam once more. We can’t wait for you to hear it,” said the social media post.

Speaking toward the end of the radio interview on Thursday, Kees embraced the applause offered for the collaborative single done with Jimmy October- a single called, “Magic”. He took that opportunity to call on the people of Trinidad and Tobago to celebrate calypso music which, he reminded the world, many other genres were bred from.
