Comedian Rachel Price says her democracy will not be challenged.
Trinidad and Tobago comedian, Rachel Price says she has not received any pre-action protocol letter- this on the heels of news reports that the often outspoken and sometimes controversial, Price had been served the legal document on behalf of the country’s President, Anthony Aquinas Carmona. Price, being her usual expressive self, on RED96.7FM’s morning show on Tuesday, said she would fight any pre-action protocol letter, when and if it is in fact received. She repeated, throughout the three hour span of the urban program that she lives in a democratic country.

According to news media in Trinidad and Tobago, the letter is set to be served to Price, calling on her to cease any talk relative to the attire of the President’s wife, Reema Carmona. It was just last month that an outfit worn by Mrs. Carmona during her attendance at a United Nations fashion event in New York, sparked outrage and chatter, leading to Price’s comments on the early morning show and certainly on social media. She had condemned the first lady’s choice of clothing which seemingly exposed her midriff area, calling it inappropriate.
This morning, Rachel Price excitedly insinuated that another comedy show was on the way. Her comments surrounding Mrs. Carmona’s attire, last month, were used to pull crowds to one of her shows, in the aftermath of the UN event. Price has waded in to several persons of interest in recent years- among them, soca artiste, Fay-Ann Lyons with whom she had a public Twitter feud earlier this year. The fiery comedian who is also revered by her loyal fans for her ‘realest’ nature, has even taken a punch at carnival masquerade band, Fantasy – trampling on their 2015 carnival presentation of crotchless female undergarments, with no apology.
