Caribbean Blogger Jay Blessed, Angela Hunte React to CNN’s Anthony Bourdain’s Suicide.

As though a bomb has been dropped, the death of CNN’s Parts Unknown host, Anthony Bourdain has left a sad feeling in the souls of many. Here is a man, that at 61, has touched the lives of millions around the world. He told the stories of the depressed, the worn, the downtrodden and breathed  hope into the souls of those whose lives he came into contact with. Caribbean people are among those who’s feelings are in the balance today, this after it was learnt that Bourdain committed suicide in his hotel room, in France.

International songwriter and artist, Angela Hunte expressed grief today, taking to instagram to say that she had the pleasure of meeting Bourdain.

I read every book I watched almost every show and had the opportunity to even meet this amazing man Anthony you will know how you were loved by so many I learned so much from you but we will never know your pain and what u were going thru. REST IN PEACE ANTHONY BOURDAIN . – Angela Hunte. 

Bourdain’s suicidal death comes less than a week after designer, Kate Spade was found hanging from a red scarf in her bedroom. She was 55.

Today, well known Caribbean blogger, Jay Blessed also vocalized her thoughts on social media, reiterating her many previous rants on the topic of depression. Read what she had to say, below.

Anthony Bourdain visited and documented the happenings in Trinidad and Tobago just about two years ago. His reporting was met with some resistance by the people of T&T, many of whom found it to be unbalanced. The Syrian community in T&T also took a bit of tongue lashing from the public at large when one member of the community was recorded saying the Syrian community which he said accounts for 1% of the population, is the most powerful community in T&T.

Tarrus Riley Gets Personal with NYC on October 1st.

On October 1st, fans of reggae in New York City will be treated to a one of a kind event, when reggae sensation, Tarrus Riley graces the stage of the world renowned SOBs music venue where he’ll present music off his ‘Blending Life’s Experiences Musically’ EP.

Although listening sessions are a common occurrence in the music realm, Riley who recently delivered to rave reviews from both fans and music industry insiders, an unforgettable musical experience in his homeland of Jamaica, will replicate the latter in New York, according to his team at Destine Media. Simply and expertly, Tarrus replaced the typical album listening affair with a live band experience. “People can expect to have an up close and personal BLEM experience with Tarrus, who will be performing in the famous SOBs for the first time. This event with limited capacity will be a special event for NY,” said his publicist, Ronnie Tomlinson.

In an added bonus and to keep the night’s memories alive, the ticketed admission will include a copy of the coveted EP. Produced by Izy Beats, B.L.E.M (Blending Life’s Experiences Musically) offers a diverse offering of six songs inspired by the crooner’s personal situations.

“I’ve been in one of these songs at some point in my life,” Tarrus recently said.

Grammy Collectors, Third World Stays Atop the Charts With New ‘Jr. Gong’ Produced Album.

Undeniably one of the hardest working bands on the scene, ten-times Grammy nominated, Third World this summer celebrated the release of their 22nd studio album, More Work To Be Done , produced by Damian “Jr Gong” Marley.

The Reggae unit recently completed a very successful tour around the world – conquering four continents and 10 countries including USA, Canada, France, Spain, Tunisia, Ghana, Austria, Netherlands, Switzerland, Curacao. The band describes their experience as powerful, refreshing and encouraging.”Touring is everything. Third World show is always a little different, there is something there for everyone.” explained a band insider.

The band’s 22nd album has been produced by Damian Marley.

From their modest 1975 beginnings as an opening act for Bob Marley & the Wailers’ World Tour, to present times, Third World has stood the test of time delivering a lasting memory through their showmanship. Shortly after concluding their 2019 winter touring season, and in keeping with the ‘More Work To Be Done’ sentiment, the globetrotting band launched their intercontinental journey at the Issa Foundation Fundraiser at Couples Resorts in Ocho Rios alongside Grammy Award-winning Australian group Air Supply and rising star Koffee.
