Caribbean supporters of soca and dancehall music will revel in the performances of a few of their own tonight as popular entertainers, Bunji Garlin, Fay-Ann Lyons, Elephant Man, Wayne Marshall and QQ, are set to show the world just how Caribbean people party on BET’s 106th and Park later today.

The show was taped at the New York studio yesterday, however viewers will take it all in today having been promised a Carnival takeover show, ahead of the Labor Day West Indian Day parade in Brooklyn on September 3rd.

Bunji and Fay-Ann have been traveling the world, exposing their individual styles of soca music, to eager music lovers in parts of the US, Canada and the UK. Recently, the couple made waves in Belgium, having performed at the Hard Rock Cafe in Oslo to enthusiastic soca newbies.

Meanwhile, Bunji’s Differentology album has received positive reviews from Rollingstone Magazine. The online entertainment music hub described the album as Soca for the Spotify generation. “The singer blends dancehall, EDM and even trap (“Truck on D Road,” with A$AP Ferg) into his sound, without ever seeming like he’s trying too hard,” the review reads.
