Beloved Trinidadian comedian, Ro’Dey is marking a major milestone in his career with the debut of his latest production, “Love Is?”: a one-man comedy experience that promises to deliver laughter, heart, and unforgettable storytelling.

Celebrating ten years in the entertainment industry, Ro’Dey is set to take centre stage at Queen’s Hall, St Ann’s, for a weekend of shows on Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd June 2025. The event features a family-friendly Kids’ Edition on Saturday 21st June at 3:00 PM, followed by the Adults Show later that evening at 8:30 PM, and a second Adults Show on Sunday 22nd June at 6:30 PM—offering something special for all ages.

“Love Is?” is a comedic exploration of the many forms of love — romantic, familial, self-love and even the hilariously complicated kind. Known for his sharp wit, impeccable timing, and wildly popular characters like Fleeky, Trevor, Miss Janice, and AhriteDeh, Ro’Dey brings these personalities to life on stage as he reflects on the ups and downs of love and relationships through the lens of Caribbean culture. Directed by award-winning icon Penelope Spencer, the show is both a celebration of Ro’Dey’s journey as well as a love letter to the fans who have supported him over the last decade.

Speaking of these upcoming performances, Ro’Dey – born Rodell Cumberbatch – shares his excitement, saying, “I’m really excited to share this show with everyone. It’s been ten years of laughs, lessons, and plenty of characters, and I’m just grateful for the love and support along the way.” Following the massive success of the showcase in the British Virgin Islands at the end of May 2025, Cumberbatch is looking forward to continuing the journey of laughter across the country. “‘Love Is?’ means a lot to me, and I can’t wait for people to come out and enjoy the experience.”

The celebratory weekend in June kicks off with the Kids’ Edition of “Love Is?”, taking place on the afternoon of Saturday 21st June at Queen’s Hall, St. Ann’s and highlighting the creativity and talent of young performers. Through dance, music, and comedy segments, children will take the stage alongside Ro’Dey to explore themes of friendship, love and kindness in a fun and engaging setting. Blending Ro’Dey’s signature humour with the energy and charm of young performers, the show offers a rare and uplifting experience where children are not simply part of the audience – they are the stars. With his natural ability to connect with younger crowds and his commitment to inspiring the next generation, Ro’Dey creates an atmosphere that is both entertaining and empowering. Designed for kids between the ages of 5 and 17 years as well as their families, the event promises a wholesome and memorable experience for the entire household. Alternatively, the Adults Only Shows, carded for the evening of the 21st and 22nd June, promise world-class comedic entertainment – in signature Ro’Dey fashion.

“Love Is?” marks an important chapter in Ro’Dey’s career, not only as a performer but as a storyteller who continues to connect with audiences across generations. Known for his ability to make people laugh while also making them think, Ro’Dey’s anniversary showcase is set to be one of his most personal and impactful productions to date. Through heartfelt humour, vibrant characters and real-life reflections, “Love Is?” invites audiences to laugh, relate and celebrate the journey of love and life- Caribbean-style.

In recent weeks, dancehall artiste, Vybz Kartel has been receiving some backlash online after sharing videos of himself wearing a bonnet while dancing in his underwear and a robe. The noise increased after he shared it a second time, almost taunting his detractors and making it clear that he is rich and does not care for the unsolicited comments of naysayers. Fast forward days later and like magic, the artiste’s pre-album release publicity stunt ushers in the release of his forthcoming album God & Time, set for a June 5th release. Kartel ain’t no fool.

The upcoming album is symbolic for the artiste who spent 13 years behind bars in Jamaica and was only released in 2024. It is being touted as his most personal and sonically expansive body of work since his release.  The album will span genres and features an all star lineup of artistes including, Puerto Rican superstar Farruko, Jamaica’s Skillibeng, and Shenseea, with more artistes to be included.

In a media release, it is highlighted that throughout God & Time, Vybz Kartel moves seamlessly between personal reflections, hard-hitting dancehall anthems, sensual records for the ladies, genre-bending crossover records, and rare moments of vulnerability. It adds that it is inspired by the Jamaican expression “God & Time”—rooted in faith, patience, and destiny—and reflects the artiste’s survival, rebirth, and creative freedom.

The title track evokes the same introspective tone as Kartel’s most streamed post-release hit “God Is The Greatest,” which has surpassed 30 million video views year-to-date.

Produced by longtime collaborator TJ Records alongside Kartel, the album reunites the creative team behind Viking (Vybz Is King) (2015) and King of the Dancehall (2016), which included the RIAA Gold-certified hit “Fever.” God & Time will be released via TJ Records / Vybz Kartel Muzik and distributed by Zojak World Wide.

In support of the new album, Vybz Kartel will headline Reggae Sumfest on July 18th, alongside Mavado, reuniting two dancehall icons whose rivalry defined the genre throughout the 2000s in a landmark moment for Jamaican music and culture.
