Bunji Garlin’s name seems to be synonymous with surprises. The artiste has been using social media in the past year or so, to make revelations of things to come. His latest Instagram post has left many speculating, but one thing’s for sure and that’s the fact that whatever this imminent surprise is, it’s got iSpaniard smiling.

Bunji's expression of indifference.

Bunji’s expression of indifference.

Bunji’s been reeling from the success of ‘Differentology’- a song that impacted Trinidad and Tobago in a phenomenal way, having even captured international television audiences, after it was used by the producers of Grey’s Anatomy in the opening of one of the show’s episodes in November 2013. From that time to now, so much has happened. Bunji and Fay-Ann, the woman he cherishes no doubt, appeared side by side on BET’s 106th and Park, where the song was performed and enjoyed by the hosts and live audience. Most recently, Bunji Garlin’s name was once again receiving heavy promotion- this after the release of the remixed version of ‘Truck On De Road’- his 2014 carnival hit, with Hip Hop artiste, A$AP Ferg.

Bunji has hinted that he's received news that will make for a tremendous surprise.

In a Twitter post two weeks ago, New York’s HOT97FM’s Funk Master Flex mentioned the collab. On Tuesday, Bunji said, “NORMALLY this is the expression I would wear whether good news, bad news or any news lol. Today was different though. Who says soca have nowhere to go probably jumping off cliffs or jumping on wagons now or will soon be……Again.” What or who he was referencing, we can’t say but Bunji was certainly happy about something.

He subsequently Instagrammed a photo of himself with the caption, I NORMALLY won’t wear this expression for absolutely any reason at all but with all the blessings that has been happening in our family to get this news and development where this career is concerned is just another wow. Stay tuned people. Things are for real on this side of happenings.”

T&T’s carnival season is coming and with it usually comes a natural stir of energy within the soca fraternity, and among the artistes. Stay tuned, we’ll keep you in the know every step of the way!
