While Beyonce’s IvyPark may have already sold out online, the entertainer’s promotion of the activewear line that sees her collaborate with Adidas, continues to be heavily promoted across social media. So heavily promoted is the awesome line of sweatsuits and other fitness gear that Bey’s even pitched her look to Caribbean fans around the world.

Beyonce’s Ivy Park has sold out online.

There’s really nothing like the sound of reggae to get us Caribbean folk all flustered and ready to peep the scene. Well Bey and her team certainly know us well so like clockwork, Caribbean people are buzzing about the Ivy Park brand, and many of us would’ve likely been in the online shopping craze. The brand officially relaunched on Saturday and features a number of style options, including sweaters, snap track jackets, track pants, jumpsuits, harness bags, hoodies, tees, cargo sweat pants and even skirts.

Beyonce on the dancehall tip.

The line primarily consists of an orange, burgundy and off-white color palate with prices ranging from $25USD to $250USD. Pre-sale items from the new collection, and Beyonce’s first with Adidas after dropping Top Shop and becoming the sole owner, went on sale on Friday and by the end of the day, Ivy Park socks were the only item left. By Saturday, there were reports that even those were sold out.

Female star power can no longer be categorised as merely sporadic, or dismissed as isolated, as this past year has seen the ladies topping the charts and holding their own alongside their male-counterparts. Among those who trod on fiercely, carrying the flag of female empowerment are Jamaican-born dancehall singer-songwriter Hoodcelebrityy and rapper Kash Doll.

On a mission to unite and entertain the world through music, the multi-talented pair have released “SO PRETTY”, a hit-bound track celebrating women’s beauty and independence worldwide. According to a media statement issued by Destine Media, the song is an anthem for women everywhere to unite with each other and embrace their differences. It is the call for women to use their power, unite with who they truly are, and liberate themselves from patriarchal standards.

Hood Celebrity

Known for her self-esteem boosting international chart topping singe, “Walking Trophy”, Hoodcelebrityy spoke on the song’s inspiration, and her collaboration with BET Award nominee for Best Female Hip Hop Artist Kash Doll, saying, “I wrote the song “So Pretty” to let women of all nationalities know that they are all beautiful. I wanted to show my appreciation for diversity and that beauty comes in all shades. I also wanted to let girls know that beauty can stem from confidence in oneself . That’s why I had to get Kash Doll on this. She exudes confidence and has such a boss mentality. Her independent mindset is inspiring,” she said.

As this tumultuous year comes to a close, let us not forget that 2020 marks the year of the 100th anniversary of the passage of the 19th Amendment, guaranteeing and protecting the woman’s constitutional right to vote. It is therefore only right to celebrate women’s independence and “SO PRETTY” does just that.

Paired with a provocative, sexy video, which premiered on Complex, “SO PRETTY” is available worldwide beginning today, on all major streaming platforms and digital outlets, and even on Hoodcelebrityy’s  official YouTube channel.

Machel Montano’s proving to be a stand up guy. You know how some companies hate giving refunds?…well, seems like the Monk and his cohorts at Tribe Carnival, understanding of the current climate, and the global economic effects of the Covid-19 pandemic, are extending an olive branch to fetters.

In a YouTube message posted last week, Machel is heard explaining why the inaugural Melee cruise, which was originally carded to sail in May 2021, has been pushed back.

He said plans are still ongoing, but explained that for those who have been strongly impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic, forcing them to reconsider sailing with the Melee family, refunds would be afforded.
