The Barrackpore Trinidad native is said to have experimented the fusion of Calypso music with East Indian musical genres before creating what he coined the soul of Calypso in Soca Music. In the 90’s Ras Shorty I penned the single, “Watch Out My Children”, which focuses on the dangers of drug abuse. The song was recorded in ten languages and was adopted by the UN in an anti-cocaine campaign.
