News today that Trinidad and Tobago’s crowned representative for the 2017 Miss
pageant, to be held in Las Vegas in November, has been disqualified.
The franchise holder of the local leg of the pageant, Jenny Douglas issued a statement to Ms. Clarke, very early this morning, we understand, expressing that she had violated her contractual agreement.
EBUZZTT understands that Ms. Clarke had in fact been garnering tremendous assistance ahead of the pageant after approaching Fay Ann Lyons and her husband, Bunji Garlin for assistance from a “sponsorship” perspective.
On Saturday, Lyons-Alvarez and her husband publicly showed off the queen on stage at the #CaribbeanStrong relief concert, even garnering strong support via video endorsements and photos from many top billed Caribbean entertainers.
A press conference is scheduled to start at 12:30pm today at the House of Vikings in Mucurapo, where the matter will be further dealt with.
EBUZZTT will bring you more as the matter unfolds. Follow Ebuzztt on Instagram for our LIVE coverage of the media conference.
