A man of music, a man of culture, a man who’s dedicated much of his time to the development of young, up and coming soca artistes- this is Terrin Callendar, best known these days as Jaiga.
For years, Jaiga has contributed behind the scenes, to the Soca music artform and even as a radio personality at one of the Caribbean’s most respected urban frequencies, the entertainer who has given us songs like, “Confidence,” “Anyway”, “Action”, “Speaker Box” and “Gyal Overload”, among countless others, maintains his loyalty to the promotion of Soca music and the artistes who work so arduously to share it with the world.
He has rebranded himself quite a bit since he initially kick started his career as an artiste, moving from the name Super Jigga TC to adopting the sobriquet, Jaiga, and even joining the ranks of Bunji Garlin and Fay-Ann Lyons’ Asylum Vikings. Jaiga has also proven himself a perfect brand endorsee, teaming up with Trinidad and Tobago’s Stag beer brand, to effectively promote it alongside several other well accomplished soca artistes and personalities. He is also aligned to Converse and in recent days, there has been some talk of his involvement in the creation of something new for the benefit of entertainers and all entertainment stakeholders, in the coming months. Never one to stop, Jaiga is likely to be a part of the Caribbean’s entertainment landscape for many, many years to come.
